Best Practices

Recommended workflows for different trading styles.

For Momentum Traders

Use the Daily or 4h timeframe and focus on the top gainers. Require multi-timeframe confirmation: the strongest setups show positive Chg%, D%, 4h%, and 1h% simultaneously. Validate on the chart before acting; high rankings in the screener don't replace chart confirmation.

For Swing Traders

Compare Weekly and Daily performance to identify market leaders showing sustained strength. Favor instruments that rank consistently at the top of the Gainers list across multiple sessions. Enter on pullbacks toward support rather than chasing extended moves.

For Short Sellers

Focus on the Losers tab and require weakness to be present across multiple timeframes, not just the current session. Avoid instruments where short-term momentum (1h%, 4h%) is improving even while D% and W% remain negative, as this may signal an impending recovery.

For Reversal Traders

Look for timeframe disagreement: strong W% combined with weakening D%, 4h%, and 1h% suggests a trend that may be topping. Conversely, weak W% with improving intraday readings may indicate a bottoming process. Combine these signals with the Relative Strength and Support & Resistance screeners for additional confirmation before entering counter-trend positions.

Summary

The Performance screener is a market discovery tool designed to surface strength, weakness, and emerging opportunities. Use Gainers for leadership and momentum, Losers for weakness and bearish setups, multi-timeframe columns for confirmation, and settings to filter for moves of a specific magnitude. Mini charts provide a quick visual sanity check before you open a full chart. Used consistently, the Performance screener is an effective starting point for finding momentum, continuation, breakout, and reversal opportunities across any asset class.
