Understanding the Relative Strength Index.
What is RSI?
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is a momentum oscillator that measures the speed and magnitude of recent price movements.
RSI values range between 0 and 100.
Common RSI Interpretations
| RSI Value | Interpretation |
|---|---|
| Above 70 | Overbought |
| Below 30 | Oversold |
| Above 80 | Extremely Overbought |
| Below 20 | Extremely Oversold |
| Around 50 | Neutral |
Overbought does not always mean price will fall, and oversold does not always mean price will rise. Strong trends can remain overbought or oversold for extended periods.
