Understanding the Relative Strength Index.

What is RSI?

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is a momentum oscillator that measures the speed and magnitude of recent price movements.

RSI values range between 0 and 100.

Common RSI Interpretations

RSI ValueInterpretation
Above 70Overbought
Below 30Oversold
Above 80Extremely Overbought
Below 20Extremely Oversold
Around 50Neutral

Overbought does not always mean price will fall, and oversold does not always mean price will rise. Strong trends can remain overbought or oversold for extended periods.
