Momentum Analysis
Read the W%, D%, 4h%, and 1h% columns together to spot aligned bullish or bearish momentum and to catch divergence between timeframes.
One of XCREENER's most powerful capabilities is the ability to evaluate momentum across multiple timeframes simultaneously. The W%, D%, 4h%, and 1h% columns display performance at each horizon so you can assess not just whether an instrument is moving, but how consistently and in what direction.
Aligned Momentum
When performance columns all point in the same direction, momentum is considered aligned.
Bullish Alignment
W% > 0
D% > 0
4h% > 0
1h% > 0All timeframes confirm buying pressure. Instruments showing this profile often represent strong trend continuation candidates.
Bearish Alignment
W% < 0
D% < 0
4h% < 0
1h% < 0All timeframes confirm selling pressure. These instruments are candidates for bearish continuation or breakdown setups.
Momentum Acceleration
When shorter-term performance exceeds longer-term performance, momentum is accelerating: buyers (or sellers) are becoming more aggressive.

The 1h reading is larger than the 4h, which is larger than the daily. This pattern suggests building momentum and may indicate an early-stage breakout or trend acceleration.
Momentum Weakening
When shorter-term performance is weaker than longer-term performance (or begins reversing), momentum may be fading.

The weekly trend is still positive, but intraday momentum has turned negative. This is a common profile at trend exhaustion points and may signal a pullback or reversal.
Practical Application
Multi-timeframe momentum analysis works across all five screeners:
- In the Performance screener, it helps distinguish sustained momentum from short-lived spikes.
- In the Breakouts screener, it confirms whether a breakout has follow-through across timeframes.
- In the Support & Resistance screener, it reveals whether a bounce from support has momentum behind it.
- In the Price Crossovers screener, it validates whether a crossover signal is supported by broader trend direction.
- In the Relative Strength screener, it indicates whether an overbought or oversold reading is occurring within a strong or weak trend.
Strong setups typically show alignment between the crossover/breakout/level signal and the multi-timeframe performance data.
